review 1: The tale gets better and better! Yet another thrill ride from Mr. Maxwell, this one even more fast-paced and exciting than the first. Ella is my favorite character and I just LOVE how she continues to grow and learn in essence and lore. She doesn't let anyone stop her! Miro is my second fav. He reminds me of Rand from The Sword of Truth series. He always does what is right no matter how hard it might be. I am terrified to see what happens in the next book! The ending of this one gave me chills!
review 2: Disclaimer: I received this book curtsey of Goodreads First reads. I really liked this book however it did not really resonate with me in the way that other books have so I could not give it 5 stars however the rating is probably more like a 4.5 but you can't g... moreive it half stars. I really like the premise of this story and the plot was interesting and kept my attention throughout the book. I love mysteries so this book was right up my alley. I liked the characters but I could never relate to any of them on a personal level. This is just something that I personally love to have in my books so it is kind of a turn-off when I just can't relate to the characters. I will probably check out the first book to this series since I started with the second book I did feel like I missed out on some things and there were parts that might make more sense. However, I did like that this second book was not so dependent on the reader having read the first book that it was impossible to pick up on the plot line. Overall great job and I did enjoy it. less
