review 1: I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this! I originally added it to my library because all the reviews said there were no sex scenes and oh what a relief it is to know that's true! This is such a lovely story, filled with romance, love, faith, and true passion. I commend the author for being able to catch that passion without having to write a bunch of pages worth of filth (not that I don't enjoy a good sex scene)
review 2: I really wanted to like this book, and I did like quite a bit of it, but parts were just too far fetched or unrealistic to me. Some examples of this are 1)a brother selling all they have to keep his twin brother out of debtor's prison when there isn't any actual proof and when the brother has no right to anything, 2)the main heroine who is a ... moreyoung lady of marriageable age does not realize she has a dowery and does not meet with the family solicitor at any point, 3)trusting her uncle after she knows what she does, 4)going home to her uncle when she knows he most likely wants her dead, etc. I did like the main characters and story plot. I just felt there should have been better development so it felt more real to what the characters would do and to the time period. less
