Gotcha Detective Agency Mysteries

review 1: First in a series about the Gotcha detective agency owned by Mimi. They are hired to protect an authoress who has been threatened. When they bring her home after an event they find her assistant Esme, murdered in a scene straight out of the authoress' just released book. Mimi's life is threatened, her home and office invaded and the detective in charge is her ex college boyfriend. An interesting read with an out of left field ending and an easy segue into the next book. The read is marred by poor formatting in the ebook version from Kobo as there is a page turn after nearly every paragraph.
review 2: The description of the murder scene was more graphic and gory than I expected in what I thought was a cozy mystery. Mimi seemed rather immature for someone wh... moreo has been in the Secret Service, who has lost a husband, and who owns a detective agency. Nick was outright obnoxious, and I couldn't understand why Mimi was attracted to him. The vampire role-playing was a little over the top but certainly added something different to the mystery. less
