review 1: Jan Garavaglia, a medical examiner who has practiced in San Antonio, Texas and Miami, Florida, found fame when she was approached to do a reality series on some of the medical mysteries that came across her autopsy table. What Jan finds every day, though, is that people are dying early for very preventable reasons. She explores some of the obvious reasons, such as smoking, obesity, and drug abuse, and then some less obvious ones, such as vacation stress and pessimism. Using examples of autopsies that she has performed, “Dr. G.” spills some secrets to help a reader prevent an untimely death.• No language issues• There are descriptions of various medical examinations. They aren’t gory or gruesome, but they are honest.• An easy, engaging writing style will kee... morep a reader interested.
review 2: This book is amazing not for the writing but the content. Dr. G. does a fantastic job of explaining the biggest risk factors leading up to premature death, and she does it in an interesting, easily understood sort of way. There are also stories of autopsies, but nothing too gruesome and nothing criminal, because she focuses on avoiding common causes of death. I would recommend this book to anyone. less

Good book, really just full of common sense. And, don't ride with the windows half way down!
