review 1: hmmmm.....Here is my personal opinion about this book:I loved the blurb and purchased this book without a thought but my "love" for this book quickly declined to "ok...I don't love it but still like it"....and then dropped rock bottom to "I don't like this at all"....and then finally reached below the rock bottom stage: "this is disappointing, weird and do not like reading it at all".I am not much into bdsm but still read a few because they are so well written with a good end/message etc. However, this story made me uncomfortable because of the humiliation bits. Here I was hugging this book initially thinking "oooohhh..it involves a wounded hero and a loving strong one to adore/protect and love him" (thanks to misleading blurb)...I sure did not like reading the humping the... more dirty boots bits and some of the dialogue....the transformation from a wounded/vulnerable shifter who was a slave for many years to a strong experienced and a little sadistic Dom was simply too sudden, strange and disturbing for me...The other hero who appeared to be strong, compassionate and loving initially suddenly turned into a "sub" who seemed to enjoy dirty& dusty boots and some degree of insults...nope...not my kind of book....
review 2: This was a short 99 page contemporary Western M/M wolf shifter romance story. Charlie is a lonely man living on his land that he has turning into an animal reservation where he takes in hurt and healing animals of all kinds because he feels closer to animals then people. Charlie has always been alone and it sounds like he has never dated anyone girl or boy in his long life. One day on a walk in the snow, Charlie comes across a body lying in the cold, it is Luka. Luka is not a normal human being, he is a wolf-shifter that has escaped from captivity by another wolf-shifter pack who had treated him like a (sexual) slave for the pack members, women and men.This is about healing childhood hurts and finding and creating a loving relationship between two lonely men. Very nice salty sweet read.2 star less
