review 1: It's been such a long time since I've read children books and I must say that the style is refreshing (especially the size 14 font). Esme Dooley reminds me of pippi longstockings with her eccentric personality and I really think that this could become a series of mini adventures. Esme more than makes up for her short stature with spunk and intelligence. The book contains tense moments, humor, and an exciting climax. Charming silhouettes provide previews of coming attractions for each chapter and the story moves along at a pace to ensure that the reader will want to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next!
