review 1: I picked this up at work because it looked interesting, and it was written by Jane Espenson. Who could ask for anything more? Apparently, it turns out to be based on a web series put out by CW through their CW Seed site. The two guys met, got drunk, and married, which has resulted in some interesting high jinks. In this book, the two stars, and their best friend, find themselves morphing through a series of literary genres in the hopes of learning what it means to truly be in love. These include superheros, science fiction, fairy tales, Archie, and even Edwardian mystery. I actually found it to be an interesting story, though it definitely plays up the dumbness of the bigger guy, and the chatty repartee of the smaller guy. I tried watching the show and can see how ... moreit ties in, but the show itself overplays the camp to the extreme, and I could only watch a couple of episode even though it is filled with actors from the Whedon-verse. Oh, well.This is definitely not a must read. review 2: this is basically why i wanted to join netgalley in the first place.to get a hold of books i might not have had the chance to otherwise or learn about their existence in the first place.and this was such a good place to begin with. I love Husbands (the youtube show) so much and when i found out their making it into a graphic novel I WAS ECSTATIC.It portrayed the essence of the show beautifully and showed another side of brady and cheeks that we might not have gotten to see otherwise.The art was lovely if a bit choppy at parts and the stories seemed a bit all over the place but other than that I really enjoyed it and have recommended to a couple of people since.this was lovely and a joy to read and i hope they come out with more of it in the future. less
