review 2: A FIRST READS book.I found this a fairly annoying read actually. I adored Vitt, he is the perfect hero, but Jill is just so foolish, even when she is supposedly cunnin
... moreg. She runs because of a comment made by an 18 year old maid. She does some research, but doesn't read about Vitt's father's shooting, or his business ventures. She doesn't seem to know who she works for, doesn't question anything but is supposedly so smart that she is totally able to alter her idenitity. Really? I just found her ignorant and foolish.I've also got a bone to pick with the plotting. Apparently Sicily is in Europe, the continent right? So then why would Vitt say his sister lives in Europe when he is there too [he makes his comment to Jill]. You wouldn't live in New York and say my sister lives in North America [meaning the continent] when you meant a city or town in the US, Canada or Mexico. Then why would you do that when you are in Italy. Couldn't the plotting have extended to at least mentioning a country like France, or a town or city??? That just strikes me as ignorant of the writer. So, overall, the book was entertaining, but fairly mediocre, not very intelligent with a stupid heroine and far-fetched plot. Okay, but seriouesly, I'm glad I didn't spend money buying this book. That said, I must commend Porter for taking on a darker subject for a romance novel in this category. She does her best to show the down-side of a life of crime from the side of women and children. She is also interesting in that she tries to show how hard it is for people to reinvent themselves, espeically when they are young and forced to do so via outside circumstances. less

The premise of this book was different than most HP novels so, that alone made it interesting

Kinda of a heavy plot for a Mills & Boon Modern book but I did enjoy it.

Not your normal Harlequin Presents....good story, but too short.
