review 1: I had bought his book because the premise sounded pretty interesting but this book. AGH!! I could not even get past the first few pages because it sounded so repetitive. I have a problem with repetition, but if it is evenly spread out and changed a bit it's fine, because I know I probably won't notice it. But this book made me want to smack a b*tch. It kept saying "Alex's mom..alex this..alex that" What the heck! There were only two characters and you couldn't have used like the word "he"? I DNF this book and I will never go back to it. It fills space in my shelves and that's what it's purpose in life is now.
review 2: Dani Solomon is popular, pretty, great at sports, and her family has money. What more could she need? No one would guess what goes on inside her
... more head. She tries going to her mom and her best friend for help and they just don't understand, and how could they? So Dani goes to the mother of the boy she's been babysitting. The kid she has been having recurring visions of being murdered. By her. When word spreads of her problems the town turns against her and she becomes not only hated, but feared. All this these bad thoughts are beyond Dani's control, she can't help it. She doesn't want these nasty thoughts and she hates it, but they sneak up on her and she can't stop it. Sadly this is how the world is, someone has a mental disability and suddenly they are unwanted by the people they thought were there for them. Someone has a life altering problem and the world turns there backs. I think this book is amazing, emotional, touching in places, and just sad. Not sad I'm going to cry sad. Sad like, hey, this could really happen-this does happen. What is worse is that there are so many people like officer Pinto and his son in the world. Judgmental, hateful, and cruel people. I'm glad that there are books like this out there to show people that just because someone might have problems it does not mean that that is all there is to them. There is so much more to people with mental health issues than what you can see. less
