review 1: Peanut butter is a sea horse and Jellyfish is, well, a jellyfish. These two friends have fun exploring the sea but are often hassled and called names by Crabby. When Crabby is in trouble, the two friends decide to help, even though Crabby hasn't been kind to them in the past. Crabby admits that he has been unkind and apologizes for his past behavior.The storyline is a bit simplistic but children will surely read and reread this story for the colorful, painted illustrations and the plot focus on friendship.
review 2: I like the title and the names for the undersea friends--aw, how adorable--a seahorse named Peanut Butter and a jellyfish named Jellyfish--but the story has been told fairly often. The two friends put up with the insults that Crabby hurls their w... moreay. No matter what they are doing, Crabby has something negative to say. They ignore him and go their own way until one day he is caught in a trap and headed for someone's seafood dinner. They come to his rescue, and he never behaves in a crabby way again. There are plenty of possibilities for classroom lessons and discussions through the use of this book, but it is a little too didactic for my tastes. less
