review 1: I loved this book. It is one of those books that are hard to put down (I read it in two days).Standtlander takes you on a journey of mystery, suspense, gruel, justice, confusion, and love all in one book. Just as you think you have it figured out Standtlander throws a curve ball to throw you all off again. I had a love/hate feeling toward the characters but all are mysterious and interesting. There were times where I would be on the edge of my seat and other times where I was literally talking to the book like “Are you serious?” In the first chapter it jumps right into the action (I had a “are you serious” moment) and I was hooked from that point on (so will you).I am definitely recommending this book to my friends, family, and you.
review 2: The sins... more of one taint many...Once I started this mind-blowing book, I didn’t stop until I finished the very last word. Six hours I spent while my heart pounded, my eyes watered and my pulse raced. It is THAT engrossing.I was drawn to this book because it deals with revenge and retribution against people that steal innocence. The individual who decides to exact punishment on monsters in society who more than deserve to reap what they have sown is driven to extreme measures to accomplish this feat.But at what cost to the soul? When someone becomes the hunter of evil, are they doomed to become the thing they hate the most? Will they, too, eventually become the prey? Will the line between humanity and inhumanity become blurred by the insatiable appetite for vengeance?The gruesome murder scenes are written with an expert hand and dark, intense detail that sent a chill of fear through me. I found myself immersed in the story right next to the detectives working the case. When the police realize that several gory murders share distinct, similar traits and that they are now searching for a serial killer, I was mesmerized by the intricate plot, cast of characters and sharp attention to detail.Mr. Stadtlander writes with perfection the first-person perspective of the hunter and takes you inside the inner workings of a sociopath’s damaged psyche. The sins of one twisted soul tainted the hunter, thus breeding a killer. A vicious murderer who could have easily been the predator stalking innocence but opted to attempt to save it. Will redemption ever truly be reached to stop the bloodshed? As the investigators are closing in on the hunter, will sweet release of a tormented mind be the outcome upon arrest? Will there even be an arrest?You will have to read this outstanding thriller to find out! Kudos to Mr. Stadtlander for penning such an exceptional piece of literature! less
