review 1: Extreme violence, solitary, soulless, damaged brutal serial killer who enjoys torturing his victims, police corruption, flawed investigator, throw in a little romance, complicated plot with a cast of thousands and you've got yourself a story, contrived, but apparently selling. Nothing about the whys and wherefores of the violence, guns, paranoia and elaborate security concerns in South Africa, just a cookie cutter plot that could happen in anywhere planet earth.

Great book. I like the setting, South Africa. The story is fast moving with interesting characters
