review 1: Finally, a couple in a romantic novel that doesn't lie to each other and hide secrets from each other through the entire novel! Yes, she has trust issues, but she doesn't lie or hide that fact. It was such a relief! That doesn't mean that their relationship is totally conflict free or boring as some others that I have read. I loved Sam and liked Abby and Newton. The plot was pretty good, although a little bit of the ending seemed to come out of nowhere. All around a good read, and I'll be reading the next two in the trilogy.
review 2: I want to like Krentz; she's a local author, and I've read other books by her, but it had been some time. After reading this, I remember why I don't read her stuff. "There is some deepening in the intensity of the ultralig... moreht coming from the hot end of the spectrum, but nothing alarming. I didn't see anything that I associate with instability of the para-senses. Also for the record, I didn't see the kind of dreamlight that is associated with regular sleepwalking." When she gets hooked on a theme, it gets so repetitive it becomes a chore. Para-senses this, ultralight blah blah blah. "Psi-infused sex," "jacking up his talent;" the writing is just awful and the characters are cliche. less
