review 1: I liked this better than many of the other books in the series. While it's more of the same adventure style with a happily ever after romance. What I liked is the fact that Luther (the male interest) is not the usual male model. He's an ex-cop with a hard face. He also is on a cane and couldn't outrun a little old lady with a walker. Again, it was a fun adventure and brings the use of crystals to the forefront. Nice foreshadowing for the Harmony series.
review 2: I was prepared not to like this book as my more recent experiences with some of the big-name authors haven't been positive. ... more hurt that Krentz put into words the code I read by: "You read the ending first?""I always read the ending before I commit to the whole book."He looked at her, baffled. "If you know how it ends, why read the book?""I don't read for the ending. I read for the story. ... Life is too short to waste time on books that end badly.""By badly you mean unhappily, right?""As far as I'm concerned, the two are synonymous."If Goodreads allowed it, I'd give this book an extra .5 for the librarian stuff. less
