Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman
review 1: What an enjoyable find this was. Maggie is a simple person who has led quite an un-extraordinary dad, albeit with a criminal father and insane mother. Following a car accident that tragically stole the lives of her sister and brother-in-law, her little niece is left in a coma and on the verge of being sent to a less than acceptable hospital for her on-going care. In desperate need of money, Maggie finds herself learning to become a hitwoman. Oh, and add in the fact that, following the car accident that she was also in and suffered a head injury, she has turned into a Dr Doolittle and can hear animals speak. yeah, yeah, it sounds a little far-fetched, but trust me, it works. Funny and interesting, this was a great first novel in the series and I can't wait to read the... more next one.
review 2: I was hopeful about this one but a bit skeptical that it could meet the expectations set by the description. I shouldn't have worried. Maggie is funny, smart-ass, and crazy, my favorite kind of character. Add in a hint of sexual tension, and you've got yourself a page-turner with characters and situations that sound like they couldn't possibly be real but somehow are awfully familiar. Recommended for a funny, sexy brain-candy kind of read. less
