Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman

review 1: Maggie is a part-time hitwoman. Part-time in that she doesn't do this often but accidentally got into this profession and needed the money to cover her niece's medical bills. Maggie is trying to get custody of her niece, Katie, after her sister died so she tries to prove to family services that she can be responsible by paying the hospital bills and moving in with her aunts showing she has family support. Obviously, family services do not know that she is a hitwoman. Her latest assignment is to kill a dirty cop who she once dated. She currently has feelings for her murder mentor, Patrick, but she is fighting this attraction because he is married. Maggie is an unusual woman with crazy relatives and a sister she hasn't seen in years. Oh yeah, she also talks to animals and t... morehey talk to her too. I liked Maggie and started to like Patrick about half way through the book. I really didn't like the ending cliffhanger. It seemed like just a way to sell more books.
review 2: I enjoyed reading the book and the story was good... but it did bother me that there were some glaring inconsistencies between this book and the previous ones. Without giving anything away, hopefully... the previous books had something in the works regarding a living arrangement... and also had Katie as improving and recognizing Maggie and the aunts. But unfortunately these things didn't make it into book 4. less
