review 1: “The McCree’s Star Spangled 4th” was an extension of the book “Chasing McCree.” It was basically a longer ending to the book which was awesome because I didn't want the first one to be over. Blair and Chase were in Montana, where Chase’s mother, step dad, and Blair’s grandma were coming to celebrate the 4th of July. The McCree family had their annual 4th of July party and everyone from the neighborhood was there. The day after the party, Chase’s mother started in on Blair about how she should just go home. She thought staying in Montana was a bad idea for Blair because it was going to end like it did for her and Chase’s father. Montana wasn’t for her so she didn't think it was for Blair either. Obviously Blair didn't like that because she wanted to stay... more and be with Chase. She ran off to the barn crying. Chase found her and she told him what happened so he had a talk with his mother. He laid down the law that Blair was going to stay whether or not she liked it. The main characters of this book were all awesome people. There was Blair, the city girl turned country that was in love with Chase. Chase was a loaded ranch kid, that just took over his deceased dad’s 50,000 acre farm in Montana. Chase’s mother and stepdad were smaller characters but still important. Blair’s grandma was my favorite of all the characters. She always had something smart to say. He had some great sayings and gave the best advice. The setting of this story was in Montana; the McCree’s ranch for the most part. The ranch was a beautiful 50,000 acre plot of land. It was filled with grasslands, hills, rivers, trees and everything else you could think of. This story took place in the beginning of July. To be exact right around the fourth of July. It was the best time to be in Montana because it was always so nice and warm out. There were many themes in this book. One could be when someone tries to warn you about a bad situation that they had and they think you are going through. Chase’s mother married his father at a young age and moved to the ranch and she hated it. They ended up getting divorced and she left because the ranch was not her thing. She tried to tell Blair it was going to happen to her but she is willing to take that chance. I would recommend this book too. Most people would be very confused unless they read the first book. I would really recommend it if you read the first one and liked it. Im glad I found this book online. If you haven’t read “Chasing McCree” you really should.
review 2: A nice chance to revisit Chase and Briar in MontanaFor those who have read Chasing McCree and enjoyed it, this is a fun chance to revisit these highly sympathetic young lovers. This short story is set on the McCree family ranch in Montana. The events take place just before the epilogue in Chasing McCree and, as is apparent from the title, deal with the celebration of the Fourth of July. I rate this story as follows:Heroine: 5 starsHero: 5 starsSubcharacters: 5 starsWriting: 4 starsRomance Plot: 5 starsSetting: 5 starsOverall: 5 stars less
