review 1: Cassie is a spunky 28ish year old. When she hooks up with Trey they both have a feeling it's more than just a one night stand but they both have obligations that force them to walk away. When their paths cross again Trey is not going let her get away again. It takes some convincing but Cassie can resist Trey. Things with Cassie's new family is rocky at best but throw in a secret love affair, and you got an explosion waiting to happen. Trey doesn't have things much better with his carefully crafted stay out of the limelight life and a friend that is in serious need of an intervention things get just as hairy for him. You know everything is going to come to a head, and it does now Trey has to fight to get Cassie back. Some hot steamy sex in the beginning but not too much thr... moreoughout. The ending was good - nothing far into the future. There is another book in the series coming out in October 2014.
review 2: One Night with a Quarterback, The Sante Fe Bobcats #1, by Jeanette MurrayGrade: D"You know, the mind of a nerd. I was probably daydreaming about some RPG or something."Cassie Wainwright is shocked when her mother reveals the identity of her father after so many years and that he knows nothing of her existence. Cassie reaches out and her father agrees for her to come to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he coaches the NFL Bobcats. Cassie is extatic to meet her new family that includes two half sisters but that quickly changes when her family doesn't exactly welcome her with open arms. Cassie reaches out to Trey Owens a guy she met at a club her first night in town but little does Cassie know trey is keeping a secret. Trey Owens loves being the quarterback for the Santa Fe Bobcats but he doesn't like the fame that comes with it. Troy decides to try a disguise on his night out to the club with his teammate and is thrilled when he meets Cassie and she has no idea who he is. As the two cross paths he finds he likes spending time with her and eventually wants more but Cassie still doesn't know his true identiy or profession. Troy must find a way to tell Cassie who he is before anyone else does. I am a big fan of sports romance themed books so I was very excited for One Night with a Quarterback. Unfortunately I had a lot of problems with Cassie, Troy and their storyline. I really didn't like Cassie from the start and didn't like how she handled herself with her family or Troy. I felt that she never stood up for herself and just let her father and stepmother treat her like dirt. I never felt that things with her stepmother got resolved and that really bothered me. I also felt her father was a complete ass who made me want to throw my book against the wall. I liked Troy at first but he too started to get on my nerves. I could see why he wanted to not tell Cassie who he really was but he lied for too long and it took him way too long to pull his head out of his ass and see how important Cassie was to him. This book was very predictable and nothing exciting happened. It seemed to follow a very simple formula and without exciting and like able characters it fell flat and I have no desire to read the next book in the series. less
