review 1: I like the idea behind this book but I was totally turned off by page 1 when the mom is yelling at the daughter. Then, on almost the next page, the daughter is calling the wind "dumb". Adding that adjective does nothing to the story except add a bad attitude that I don't want my child picking up. I don't need a CHILDREN's book to introduce bad ideas/habits to my kiddo. I'm looking for more positive books.
review 2: This is the story of an older sister and younger brother. The older sister is fed up with her little brother and hopes the wind will take him away - because he is only wearing normal purple boots instead of her super heavy red boots. The wind catches up her brother and then she realizes that might not be a good plan so she takes off her boots and
... more goes after him. They meet various creatures and phenomenon who offer to take the brother but as they travel, the big sister realizes she needs to just take him home and does. Interesting read. Probably a good one for those with siblings but also doesn't quite go far enough in exploring why they both need to go home together for me. less
