review 1: I realize that this isn't a graphic novel for everyone. I've always had an interest in serial killer cases, especially the detectives that investigate them. I can't imagine dedicating my life to something so brutal, so thankless, so depressing and because of that I have a special admiration for people like Tom Jensen. Unlike a few other reviewers, I didn't find it hard to follow. I don't know if that's because I knew about the Green River case prior to this or not. I really loved this novel. I even got a little teary at the end. Detectives like Tom Jensen are unsung heroes and it makes me sad that we are often more enamored by the killers themselves than by the hardworking individuals that caught them. I would highly recommend this if you have an interest in crimino... morelogy.
review 2: I found this graphic novel to be really interesting. It's not necessarily driven by action and excitement, but really does a great job of looking at things from the perspective of a dedicated cop, one who won't give up on finding the person responsible for many awful deaths, even when many others have given it up. It might not seem fresh on the surface, but it felt like a fresh perspective, and while at first I found the jumping around from one timeline to the other disorienting, I came to really appreciate what it did to enhance the storytelling. Highly recommend. less
