review 1: So I started reading this series by accident, do you know how many deviant books there a!e. Anyway, it was a very interesting and suspenseful story (this goes for the entire series) and since it is a youth novel I read it very quickly. The writing is not the best and there were some typos, but it was entertaining. Also, I liked how the author drew on "weaknesses" of the main characters and let them develop into strengths. Our greatest weakness can often be our greatest strength.
review 2: Emily Webb's life totally and completely changes in a week.Emily sort of reminded me of Halle Berry in 'Catwoman'. Shy in the day, badass by night.However, I wasn't really happy with the level of explanation. I felt like nothing was explained and if it was, it was on the l... moreast page. I'm still not quite sure what a vesper and a deviant are, even though they are sort of explained on the very last page of the book.That being said, I found this book to be a little bit different from all the werewolf books that I've read. I found that the change being around the same time each night cool and I liked that Emily sort of had a double life through out the entire novel. It wasn't a bad book, I just hope that things are better explained in the next one. less
