review 1: I'm not a fan of short stories. That said Jeffery Deaver, a favorite writer of mine, is an exception to the rule. The man is able to create a story ending I cannot second guess. I don't care if the main character is a familiar friend or new to me, I devour the stories. In this case, although I love the previously published tales (especially Lincoln Rhyme), I enjoyed the newer ones more. Unfortunately, I talk myself into one more story until the book is completed.
review 2: A collection of short stories by Jeffery Deaver! Catnip to me. The collection has stories featuring his continuing characters Lincoln Ryhme & Amelia, John Pellum, and Katherine Dance, but other stories contain new and interesting characters. I especially liked “Game” a twist on a tale... more that resembled a real-life news story of a wealthy NYC widow who rents an apartment in her home to mother and son grifters. A great listen (audio). less
