review 1: I found the whole series of Clifton chronicles absolutely brilliant! Having said that I believe the series and indeed this book is written in the same way as Jeffry Archer has written all his books with a strict sense of good and bad characters. A lot of the characters lack a lot of emotion and the love story is so cliché it borders stereotype. On the other hand I still enjoyed how easy it was to read and found myself overly emotional towards certain characters. Would recommend this book to anyone, especially those who aren't hardened readers and looking for a good place to begin.
review 2: A heart warming story set back in the early 1900’s which follows a young lad named Harry Clifton as he faces the many obstacles throughout his life’s journey to manhood... more. There are also several strong characters in this book with chapters devoted to their own narration. It was an enjoyable tale and hard to put down. Also recommended is Jeffrey Archer’s classic novel ‘Kane & Abel’ an extraordinary book not to be missed. less
