review 1: Wow. For a novella, this one took me by surprise--in a good way. When I started reading this, my first thought it was just going to be a cheesy, mostly erotic, short story, and I almost stopped. After a few pages, I realized I enjoyed the author's writing style, and saw actual direction in the plot. The author did a great job packing in a lot if entertainment in a small space--I didn't find it lacking in any way. It had everything I would expect from a shifter/ biker book. Violence, sex, skanky club girls, club conflicts, suspense, confused alpha character who wasn't looking for a mate, but ends up being pretty sweet to her--everything was there in an easy to read entertaining story. There wasn't an instant claiming, and I felt a decent build up to romance within th... moree confines of the short length. Characters were pretty well defined--both main and secondary--which opens the doors to subsequent books. Probably my only complaint is I felt it took too long for the main characters to meet each other. Although the author did a good job of plot building, I wish they would have met before the 25% mark to give more time to see the relationship grow. I also wish the price would come down for this series. (I did get it for $.99, which I feel is appropriate) I personally don't think any book is worth $4.99 for a little over 100 pages.
review 2: The kind of book that seems to be given all the exciting elements, but has not depth to be considered seriously. Given the circumstances of the world these characters live in (one where shifters are known to the human race and everyone lives together under certain laws, even the outlaw one-percenters, you'd think the author would try a hand at world building and giving the characters motivation beyond animalistic need, mating and the ole' "you're mine now" spiel.Alright smut, though:)LMAO less
