review 1: I am always delighted to read books set in the Midwest but I found this one a bit distracting, esp the portions set in Minnesota, since a lot of the geography was imaginary. The story itself was intriguing, the effects of bipolar disorder on a family particularly the twin siblings. I like how the story was divided into present, past, then present again, it had good flow and tension. The stormchase aspect created an interesting dynamic in setting, symbolism and character development. Overall, a decent read. However, her first novel may be a better choice...
review 2: The start of the book was slow and I remember thinking I'm not going to finish this, but somewhere around pg 75-79 i got engaged and was hooked until the end. Jenna Blum does a good job describin
... moreg both storms and the very extremes of bipolar disorder. Woven in is the strong connection of twins and a passionate love affair. I found myself feeling the tension of the storms, both weather and bipolar. A good read! less
