review 1: Snow leopards are one of my favorite big cats, just so pretty! I was excited to see a story with snow leopard shifters.Perhaps too excited. The story ended up being slightly frustrating to read. Sujan is 21, Raju just turned 18 and had his first shift. Sujan says at one point that he's been chasing Raju for over a year, but he didn't realize Raju was his mate until Raju's first shift.Raju's just so wishy-washy. Sujan alternates ridiculously dramatically between ordering Raju around and tearfully apologizing and calling him 'Kitten.'Had high hopes, they weren't met. It wasn't a bad story, just not what I'd hoped it might be.
review 2: This is a story about mates. Sajun is the son of the alpha of his pride. They are leopard shifters. They have their firs
... moret shift at the age of eighteen, and are considers kittens since their lifespan is longer than humans. Well, Sajun has realized who his mate a year ago, and was waiting for this person’s first shift to confirm it. Even after he does, he isn’t very good at ‘catching’ his mate. His mate is in denial and is headstrong, wanting to make earn his place in the pack by his own ‘hands. Raju isn’t the strongest person/leopard in the pride. He wants to earn the respect and become a protector by participating in the ‘leap’. It is an endurance course, that is so hard, that there have been known deaths(even though they are rare). Sajun just assumes that he will go up to Raju and Raju will know and accept him as his mate instantly. Then, to continue the assumption, Raju then will obey Sajun and not do the race, earning his rank by association(being Sajun’s mate). Well, he was wrong. Though, it is obvious Raju feels an attraction towards him, he is in denial that he is his mate. Plus, even if he were his mate, he doesn’t want to be told what to do, like an object. He wants to be treated as an equal and as a being. Thus, the story goes. Sajun learns how to communicate better(not be like his dad, all caveman style). Raju comes to terms with having a mate and accepting him.Cute story, but there is still a lot that is left open. Especially, the changes Sajun wants to make when he takes over the pride. less
