review 1: great book and great series! I liked Fern a lot I liked that she was weird and people didn't get her. I loved how her twin Sam always looks out for her and I even liked her mother the "Commander" which I thought was a great nickname...lol...she was sweet and understanding when she needed to be and "commanding" when needed too. The powers were neat I liked how they were played out and explored but I thought the bad guys could have been a little scarier and the challenges a little harder. The book although a little slow in some parts I thought was overall a great book!
review 2: I'm not done with this book yet, but honestly I don't know when I'll actually finish it. I stopped caring how it ended somewhere in the middle. I was really invested at first, wondering w... morehat was going on with Fern, and then the dialogue and action began to get choppy and the characters started annoying me. If I do actually finish, it will be an act of sheer will. And if there's a sequel, I'll save my time for something else.Update: I'm proud of myself for finishing the book. Hate to leave things undone... And now a sigh of relief because it's over. I founf this book boring and pointless and not terribly well written. I do not recommend. less
