review 1: Nice little story that can be read for free on Ms. Estep’s website. It’s told from both JoJo and Sophia’s POV. They are two dwarf sisters, but very opposite and this story shows the differences (Sophia even talks about it at one point). So though it’s a simple story it’s worth reading to understand the sisters. While both are air elementals, JoJo uses her to heal and can sometimes see the future and Sophia uses hers to tear apart things (cleaning up Gin’s messes) and can sense the past or what might have been of a person’s future. JoJo is the older of the two (200+ yrs.) while Sophia is only about 100+. JoJo is girly and talkative, while Sophia dresses Goth and, due to an unexplained (yet) incident in her youth, speaks most in low grunts. Part 1 is in... more JoJo’s POV. It starts with Gin showing up late at night needing to healing (of course). But afterwards, one of the bad guys that got away shows up to kill Gin, but is taken care of by JoJo instead. Fave scene: JoJo's attitude on fighting the bad guy. Part 2 is in Sophia’s POV and occurs after she and Finn arrive to help clean up the mess. Fave scene: Feeding the wild animals
review 2: It’s funny how Gin thinks of herself as this big bad assassin and never realized how much the people around her try to baby her as well. This was a cute (or as cute as a story about killing people can be) story about how Jo-Jo and Sophia go out of their way to make sure that Gin get some rest. I loved getting to see a bit from their points of view, it was nice to see how they fit into this little family, and what roles they take on. less
