review 1: On the trail of his missing mother, Sam is given another assignment by his spymaster Elise witnesses his "assignment" and he is forced to take her with him. As a possible French spy, Elise is questioned and detained. When the decision to kill her is made Sam refuses and they go on the run. In the midst of all that, the search for his mother continues. This is the last in the series and I have to ay, it would really be better to have read the other books first.
review 2: I received this book for free through the Goodreads First Reads giveaway and immediately began reading it. It is the third book in the House of Trent series, although it can stand alone (I haven't read the first two books and didn't feel like I was missing anything). It is a romance novel... more set in England during the Napoleonic Era. Although this is a period piece, I didn't feel the novel was influenced by it. The characters were well written as was the basic storyline. I felt there were some unrealistic moments but nothing that overshadowed the romance. Overall, I found the book entertaining and finished it very quickly. I am looking forward to reading the first two books in the series. less
