review 1: This was a surprisingly fantastic book. I've always had a slight OCD, nothing near what Callie deals with but I felt like I could relate to her. Everything she felt and dealt with seemed genuine. I loved her attitude and her ability to laugh at her situation but also knowing she cannot help it. Dr. Blake was interesting in that I had a hard time seeing him as anything other than her doctor but I do completely understand how she would sort of love him because he just gets her, he understands her. This is book one of three. I'm off to start book two now. (Minor cliffhanger at the end of book one.... lucky for us book two was just released!) Great read if you are looking for a book that is character driven NOT sex driven. The romance is very light and extremely believ... moreable.
review 2: What just happened? This book is a serious roller coaster ride. After the first chapter I was skeptical that I could make it through the entire book because it is written as if you're in the head of the main character Callie. And she has a really wicked case of OCD ... about EVERYTHING. If this is really what people with OCD have to deal with on a minute by minute basis then I have a new found sympathy for people suffering with OCD. This story is fascinating, sad, tragic, funny, crazy and everything in between. There are quite a few laugh out loud moments and you can't help but cheer for Callie to get better in therapy. She is trying so hard and knows in her heart that her fears are ridiculous but she just can't help herself. I almost rated the book a four because the cliffhanger ending is really, really mean. For once I was wishing for a 600 page book. I don't want to have to wait until the sequel comes out so I can learn more about Dr. Blake and Callie. Wonderful job Ms. Jamelli! less
