review 1: This story line was really interesting and Layla was half demon, half gargoyle so fighting her true nature all the time around the Wardens made it a compelling read. I usually am not a huge fan of love triangles but this one seemed to work and both guys had good and bad points so it was hard to choose a favourite. I stayed up late to finish the story and bought the next book in the series straight away. I am always a fan of this author and she never fails to capture my interest in the first couple of chapters.
review 2: Loved!Great plot, great characters, great motives and secrets.I must admit...I kinda love me some Roth! Zayne is a nice guy, but I feel like there are parts of Layla that he will never fully except or understand....parts that he in a way fears.
... more..and I have to say that it is obvious that her loves her but has never made the move....lame.So....all is well except that:Mr. Roth needs to come back and be with Layla; Layla's father is still out in the world somewhere and wants to kill her; and I don't like how Layla is treated like second class with those that would call her "family"....aka....the Warden's. less
