review 1: This was really cute. Maybe cuter because my birthday is coming up and, ABSOLUTELY NOT true-to-form, I actually would like a huge, ridiculous party. I will be 30 after all! I should celebrate the awesomeness of me. :-) And this book has me wanting to write down all the crazy things I would love to do, just like this little girl. This book would be a very fun lap-read or read-alone. The pictures are funny and the details would get lost in a storytime crowd. This might work in a school-age, but then only for ~K-3. The preschool kids would enjoy the story and imaginings, but the text is much too long to keep their attention. I'll keep it up for display during my birthday theme.And now I must go plan a party--with elephants! And a 17-layer cake! :-)
review 2: Revie... morew: I saw this book at the library and I just had to read it! The pink and the princess little girl on the front cover just got my attention. I love this book. I have never seen it or heard about this book. I recommend everyone to read it. The little girl spends five months planning an extravagant party but at the end none of her planning happened but it was ok because she loved her little party. Then she started planning for her next party. The illustrations and concept of this story are very real and children could easily relate. Learning Experience: This is a story about a birthday party. This would be a great story to read aloud to the class and make a list about all the things the children are going to bring for the end of the year party! less
