review 1: "How do you miss someone who was never really yours?The Secret Year is a really great book. In a way, it is depressing because it is a story about this guy, Colt, having to deal with his feelings regarding Julia's death. Colt have to deal with not telling anyone about his relationship with Julia, and Julia wouldn't want anyone to know about their relationship. It's really sad to see that Colt was in way depressed about Julia's loss. He's always thinking of her and missing her, like there's no ending to this relationship even after the death of Julia. I guess this story really hit me in a way that I could understand Colt, the way he feel lost and how Julia suddenly died and leave him just like that without any closure.
review 2: I could not get into this book an... mored I don't know if it was because it just wasn't interesting enough or that I was on a book hangover because I finished City of Lost Souls prior. I feel like Colt moved things a bit fast with the other two girls after Julia, I mean I get him and Syd where friends forever but still they just kiss and within a week they're already having sex. And then Kirby they were dating for a week it seems like and they were already having sex. Although I really did enjoy the scenes with Clot's brother, he was quite comical. Over all it was an okay read. less
