Out of the Box
review 1: Regifted is the second book in the Out of the Box series. This series focuses on an older couple, finding love again, who are not in their 20’s and yet still have sex regularly. Gasp, shocking right? The series is more grounded and “real life” than a lot of the books in the romance and contemporary genre which is a welcome change.Regifted picks up where Awakening left off with Olivia thinking about her coming nuptials to the dreamy Ash. Talk about choosing right the second time around. Ash is caring, loving, romantic and did I mention hot? There are several big events happening for their extended family and the writing is just phenomenal. The details and descriptions given to every facet of the story just help to make the story feel real, like you are there witnes... moresing it all. But when the past continues to present itself to Olivia, will she be able to turn away? To keep going forward on her journey with Ash and the happiness of a future together, that he represents?Great writing and again refreshing to read about a more mature couple who still have a very physical relationship. Gives us all hope of what our sex lives can be in our late 50’s and beyond. 4 stars
review 2: I received the book from the author for an honest review. A Fresh breeze of romance as two elderly people started their lives together, sorting through the old and beginning new as they brought two families together in a peaceful way. Their maturity like a beacon amidst the storms.A feisty woman that had to deal with her past, accept it and move forward with the help of the most gorgeous man I came across in romance novels. Together they explored each other with much flair and exuberance. Their sexual drive and explorations were the highlights throughout the book and had me going-I think I need to find myself a teacher in striptease...*smile* They new how to turn each other on and wasn't afraid to enjoy each other to the fullest.I really loved Ash Harper's character, he was everything a woman wanted in a man and more. His absolute devotion to Olivia had me all worked up. He was just perfect in so many ways; not even stingy, not at all. Olivia could buy whatever she wanted and if it wasn't enough according to him he would go and spend more on her....I want a man like that! *smile* The end of the story was like...huh - I really hope their is another book - We need to know, really!!The interaction between mother and daughter stood out for me, and I really enjoyed this beautiful relationship. It was an easy going bond that was heartfelt all the way. However, the one relationship that stood out the most was the one between Todd and Olivia. Seemingly two worlds apart in age and interest; these two's unique relationship had me jealous. With all the outward trappings of a typical rock star Todd treated Olivia like a special lady and friend. Their bond strong and with no judgment as they support each other in the most troubling times. We learn to know all the characters in the book through their normal daily lives, each battling with their own desires, needs and wants. We get a glimpse, as drama unfolds, secrets revealed and dealing with the past that so easily wanted to work its way back into their lives. Really connecting with each character on some level, making this a realistic and believable story to be enjoyed with good measure. less
