review 1: Another excellent book by Jennifer Worth, who now sadly has left us for a "better place". This book would interest Nurses and Doctors and anyone involved in the care of the elderly/or those who are dying. It could also be read as a CHALLENGE to the medical profession today!! The Good Book (Bible) tells us "There is a time to live and there is a time to die". As a retired RN I have thoroughly enjoyed Jennifer's books and on 26th October had the privilege of seeing and hearing her granddaughter speak of her and also sing in a choir on SONGS OF PRAISE, ABC 11.30am.
review 2: this book had me smiling and in tears and back smiling and feeling all in all deeply touched. it's touching on the ethics of dying peacefully in old age, and that death (in itself is some... morething sacred, esp. in old age) instead of a medical failure. my grandmother died at home 2 years ago and i remember thinking thank god that that was possible. now after reading this book, i'm even more grateful. i just finished reading it a few days ago and still have to collect my thoughts about it. however if you are in your late 20s or older i def recommend this book. less
