review 1: A clever novel about how the past, and even terrible old boyfriends, always looks rose-tinted when you look back. Posy is engaged, but not sure that she wants to be marrying this particular man. She uses Facebook to track down old flames just to check that they're not who she should be with. This doesn't have a great effect on her current relationship. This is another enjoyable novel from Jenny Colgan which includes some astute observation of relationships in the age of social media. Attractive and realistic characters make this a quick and satisfying read.
review 2: After checking the reviews, I didn't think I would end up giving this book 4/5 stars. But I found this book to be really good. The language was not high flown, it was very casual. There were no meta
... morephors or allusions. This is just a clean cut narration. But what made me feel it was a great book was the message. Maybe it was because I could relate to this so well (and understand why and how my past relationship went down the drain, or why was I attracted to the most impossible men). I also learnt what my issues were, and learnt that I had better address them asap if I am to hold on to my Matt. This book, though no one would dare call it a classic, made me reflect, self-explore and learn. I think that is what a piece of Lit is supposed to do. less
