review 1: DON'T LOOK AT THE COVER! The cover doesn't give the book its justice. At first glance, we think the book is cheap and it so isn't. The story was well thought, even if the plot wasn't so original. The setting is in a world where you are divided by casts. You can be an Elai (the elites), a vasai (the healers), a pel (the workers) or a chel (the almost slaves). They each have their role to play and they can't get out of it... but it doesn't mean that everybody likes their role. Some vasai, even some elai aren't happy with this display (though they are rare).Amaranth and Ash were... so cute together. I liked reading about them, so much I couldn't put my bbok down. What is even more interesting is that there is a big bang at the end. The story is not about how impossible their ... morelove is, but about conquering it and, well, the rest of the world by accident. That was also interesting. Amaranth and Ash didn't start anything. They only wanted to be together and, meanwhile, they started a revolution. The only tiny problem I had was that there were three narators: Amaranth, Ash and Grail. I had no problem with Amaranth and Ash, they were the main characters, but I didn't want to know about Grail. Don't get me wrong, sie very important to the story and hies point of view had to be seen on certain occasion... but certain point of views were not necessary because sie wasn't the main character. But seriously, this is a tiny problem that really isn't important. This book is amazing. That's all there is to say.
review 2: A bit slow in the beginning. It took me about halfway into the book for me to get a little interested. For a majority of the book I was annoyed because it was the typical hero save heroine (well hero since it's an m/m story) type of story. There wasn't really anything in the story that wow-ed me or made me want to re-read it, in fact I spent 3 days trying to finish it. At times I felt like I was reading a m/f story instead of a m/m story because of the terminology used. less

The only thing I'm angry about is that I put off reading this for an entire week.

Sweet story. At it's core, it's very much a Romeo & Juliet style romance...
