review 1: Bronwyn has been on the run from her maker for the last 15 years and has made a life for herself along with her friend Sheraphina and Rider whom saved her from her life with Ronan. Rider is everything she could ever want in a man, one who loves her endlessly and will put aside any of her discretions. The thing is Bronwyn still loves Ronan even though there are parts of him she can not stand.Ronan has come back in her life to bring her back to him but Bronwyn struggles to stand her ground against him and to claim her love for Rider. The story is full of twists in this little love triangle between Bronwyn, Rider and Ronan. She loves both men for different reasons and she struggles to keep with her choice of Rider.I loved this story but then again who doesn’t love a good ... morevampire romance right? Oh and did I mention there is a touch of fae and werewolf in there as well?? Nope, well guess what? There is LOL Bronwyn is a vampire who feels guilty for killing innocents thus goes after predators or people who she senses are just bad. Ronan is the total opposite and brings out the “bad” in her where Rider keeps her ground. I did question whether or not she really did love Ronan or was it because he was her maker (you know you’ve read about the bound between a maker and their “child” at least once or twice before ;) ) will leadDefinitely reading on with “Blood and Sacrifice” too see where this crazy world wind of Bronwyn’s life
review 2: Barely a 3 star. This is a fast-paced story filled with love, blood, hatred, murder, vampires, wolves and Fae.Bronwyn is in the worst position ever. The man who made her is a psychopath, a coldhearted murder of innocent, and also a man she loves deeply. On the other side is Rider, the man who got her away from Ronan (her maker) in the first place. Steady as a rock, her safe heaven, a true friend and captive of Bronwyn’s heart too.In the middle; Bronwyn. Desperately clinging to her humanity, only killing the bad guys, and a girl who just wants to make sense of her own emotions and what she really is.Throw in a war in the neighbor werewolf pack, people pushing her to make the right decision and Bronwyn’s BFF’s own guy-problem… and you’ll have a combustible mix.I enjoyed this read, although I did find it too fast-paced from time to time. Bronwyn just can’t make up her mind, she KNOWS who the best choice is for her, but when it comes to the heart, is there really a choice? There were times where I really just wanted to grab Bronwyn and give her a good shake, other times my heart cried out for her, because the things she goes through…I’m really curious about where Jessica will take Bronwyn next, because the book did NOT end the way I thought it would. It’s a quick read, with good things going, there were a few things I would have liked to see different, but that has something to do with the personalities and their choices, not the writing. :-) less
