review 1: A decent read in the vast array of zombie dystopian fiction, but not good enough for me to read the two sequels. I've got a ton of other books in queue, some of which I expect to be flat-out fantastic, and getting sidetracked by "OK" zombie books isn't working. (Now, when the final book in "The Passage" trilogy comes out, different story entirely. That is exceptional storytelling.) Again, an OK book with a mostly engaging story, but it ends with "the story continues in ... " and it just wasn't compelling enough to continue. On to some Harlam Coben ....

... morelague. Information on the causative agent was sketchy, so I wasn't sure I bought the theoretical basis of the zombie transformation, but hey: zombies. Suspension of disbelief is taken for granted. Hopefully more backstory will be forthcoming in future volumes. As a light read, I found it to be satisfying, to the point that I went out and bought the other two books currently available. less
