review 1: Well what can I say other than yes, yes Jessica has done it to me once again....I'm going to have to run to Amazon for the next book in after this series prequel! I love mafia stories and Seduction & Temptation is no exception. The characters are crazy hot dangerous criminals and the sex is HOT! Only complaint here is this story was way too short! This is another Sorensen can't put down from beginning to end!
review 2: Hard to rate this book because it is obviously the set up and prelude to a bigger story. We meet Layton and Lola, childhood friends from different Mafia families. Lola's mother dies mysteriously during a "meeting" of the families and Layton is taken away by his family and Lola doesn't see him again until she is kidnapped and Layton is one of he... morer captors. Layton's family wants to start a Mafia war and needs Lola to assassinate another family head. With her father also being held captive and his life threatened, Lola agrees to make the hit, with Layton's help.Of course, Layton and Lola make passionate love before the hit is made and then Layton saves Lola's life during the assassination and sends her off with the warning not to believe what anyone tells her. The last we see of Layton is him being threatened with death by an unknown woman and then a gunshot.This was a short book and about the only thing I carried away from it was I sure hope Layton isn't dead because I really like him.On to "Sins & Secrets", book #2 (or l.0 because this book was 0.5) and yes this was confusing. Especially when I open up Sins & Secrets and there's Seduction & Temptation as the first part of Book #2. Buyer beware, you don't need to separately purchase "Seduction & Temptation", its already part of "Sins & Secrets." And, yes Lola thinks that Layton is dead. I still hope not. less
