review 1: I wanted to like this. The trope of Peter Pan in modern times sounded lovely. When Preston Tumbler eats a poisoned cookie and dies, he goes to Neverland. Preston is different from the other lost boys. He can remember his mother, but he loves the life of play. Then, another boy is murdered and Preston knows he has to warn others about the danger. When he learns Peter Pan has gone to England in Victorian times, he implores Peter to let him return to the real world.
review 2: This is one of those books that will linger, long after the last page has been turned. Stilling takes the familiar story of Peter Pan and weaves an entire new story. There was no chink in the armor of this novel- all strands led somewhere and all knots were tied by the end. The characters wer... moree genuine and I had to wipe away the tears as I read Claire's final chapter. If you thought you knew the tale of Wendy and Peter than think again and be prepared to look at childhood innocence with a new set of eyes. less
