review 1: Reviewed by JoAnneBook provided by the author for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookThis is an historical novella that had an actual storyline with a beginning, a middle and an end and also had a lot packed into its 63 pages. There was such animosity and hatred between Lord Kensington and his wife Cat, as he called her. Neither knew how to talk to the other and engage in an actual conversation as opposed to flinging accusations and hurtful comments. They would each retreat then boldly come forward only to retreat again. There was laughter, tears, anger, hatred, love and animosity. Each had their pride which also prohibited them from talking to each other in a cultured and respectful way. There was good closure through a nicely woven epilogue. Ther... moree were complex characters but the chemistry was there though and I couldn’t help but root for them to be reunited as a couple and a family. Does this happen in the end? You’ll have to read it to find out.Eaton is a new to me author and I look forward to reading other books she has written. The first chapter in book two in the series was in the back of this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to read it in full Another new to me author has made her way to my ever growing TBR pile!Favorite Quote: “I loved you yesterday, today and I shall love you for every tomorrow. You are my heart, my soul, my very reason for being,” he finished simply.
review 2: I liked the story well enough. I loved the idea of it and enjoyed several parts. I did feel like it was rushed in some areas while lagging in others. It made me sad for all the misunderstanding the couple had undergone but also warmed my heart what they secretly felt for one another. As far as I am concerned if I felt for the characters then it was a good story. Everything is set right after several lost years. The story also is set up for other novellas involving other characters in this one. less
