review 1: Remember Jay and Lily? Marked. Part II picks up after Jay made her leave to for her own security against The Markers revenge. Not only does Jay realize he’s deeply in love with Lily, but he realizes he can’t stand to be away from her. After Lily leaves, one of Lily’s two best friends (Naomi) causes a rift between Lily and Jay. Three weeks later she takes the lead and goes back to him. He’s brooding and pissed at first, but then he just can’t get enough of her. Lets talk about the sex. The make up sex, the angry sex, the I’m in love with you and can’t stand to be away from you sex. It’s effin’ explosive. Will The Marker come back to kill Jay and everyone Jay has ever loved or will he find himself and a reason to have inner peace?I have to tell you I absolu... moretely loathe cliffhangers and J.M. Sevilla really left us with a huge one in Marked: Part I. This book is a great follow-up and has a happily ever after. After the week I’ve had of cliffhangers, I was ecstatic that this book ended on such a great note. I loved the relationship between Jay and Lily. It was raw and absolutely realistic. Jay is such a caveman and half the time he grunts like one, but Lily is his inner peace and is ingrained in his heart and soul. I can’t wait to see what J.M. Sevilla has in store for us.
review 2: A great conclusion to this series. I loved getting to hear the end of Jay and Lily's story. I found this book had more action, more romance and more heartache than the previous book but that could just be my biased opinion because I was already invested in the characters from the beginning of this story. I thought this book did a great job of exploring more of Jay's character through the dual perspective writing. He has been through so much and I loved the fact that he was willing to let go of his lifelong quest for revenge because of the love he found with Lily. His final confrontation with The Marker was interesting and didn't play out anything like what I expected but thinking back on it I guess it was really fitting. Overall this was a fantastic book that I really enjoyed reading. I'd recommend this series if you're looking for a well-written adult romance that has a crime/thriller/suspense storyline with awesome characters. less
