review 1: I really enjoy the Harry Hole crime series. They are the best. So when I discovered that he had written this series of books for children and that they involved the bodily functions that grade schoolers can't get enough of, I figured I had to try them out on my daughter (who is 9). We read them together and both enjoy them. They are funny and imaginative. If other elementary children discovered them, I think they would give the Wimpy Kid and Dork Diaries a run for the money.
review 2: I love Jo Nesbo, as in Jo Nesbo who writes gloomy, confusing, Norwegian crime thrillers but last week I realized my 9 year old and I were both reading a Nesbo book, his was Doctor Proctors fart powder. Our copy was very old, hardback, bought at a 2nd hand sale, with no cover pictu... morere and looked totally uninspiring but from the second he opened it he could not put it down - so much so it's now old, uninspiring and covered in spaghetti sauce! Hats off to an author who can write so engagingly in such different genres. less
