review 1: I love reading A Twist Of Fate! It's a truly amazing book and I hope that there'll be more coming from Joanna Rees. I was deeply moved by the first few chapters and it had completely blown me away! This book is really inspiring. There were times when I cried, smile and laugh in certain events that happen in the book which was fine to me. After i finished reading this book, I couldn't stop myself from reading the good parts again and again. I can't imagine how tough life was for Romy and she still managed to survive and I'm glad that she has a happy ending even after the death of Alfonso. Thea was the lucky girl who had the lavish life but she still had to struggle with her life. If there's a thing I dislike most in the story, it would be Thea's new mother and brother but o... morether than that, everything's perfect.
review 2: This is not my normal choice of book but I wanted a simple easy read for my holiday in the sun and this did the job!! I normally read serial killer books/crime thrillers but this was a pleasant change. It does fall into the "chick lit" category so I wasn't expecting a gritty realistic plot and as expected it was not realistic. I'd go as far as to say its totally far fetched, but still enjoyable. It's about two female siblings separated at birth; one is sold to a wealthy American businessman and his wife and one ends up in an awful german orphanage like the ones you hear about in certain european countries. Each chapter alternates between Romy and Thea and jumps over the years but is easy to keep up. The rich child Thea doesn't live a blessed existence as expected and the poor child Romy fights her way to success so for me her story was more thrilling, if completely unrealistic! The ending is cliched and a bit too happy ever after for me but I do quite like a happy ending. All in all its a good holiday read if you're looking for escapism! less

Very long book, but at least it had a conclusive ending.
