review 1: This book to me is a book I would definitely read to my children for a bedtime story but never to a classroom full of children. I love how cute the book is. It is about kisses, kisses everywhere. The reason I wouldn't read it to my classroom is because it uses words like "supposes" and "toeses". It would be a great book to read and play around with your children but I would keep it out of my classroom.
review 2: This book was OK. It is aimed at younger children, lower KS1 I'd say. It shows that anyone can kiss anyone, and that it doesn't matter what your size, who you are or where you live. I wasn't too keen on the rhyming though 'noses, toes-es, supposes', and the book didn't seem to flow that well; it was rather disjointed. Also, seeing as it is called 'T... morehe Biggest Kiss', the final conclusion is about the best kiss, and the biggest kiss is a passing comment during the story.It would be a nice book to read in a family setting, but for the purpose of reading to a class of children I can't really see it working. There are elements you could cover in class - like is it possible for worms to kiss? Do they have lips? Do you need lips to kiss? Where would you have to travel to to find each animal mentioned? Simple examples of rhyming. The illustrations are beautiful, just like other books in the simonandschuster collection, and helps bring the text alive. If this book wasn't bought for me, I wouldn't go out and purchase it for use in schools. The concept behind it is nice, just not for the purpose I was thinking of. less
