Non ancora paghi delle ultime avventure e dell'incontro con la leggendaria killer Vanilla Ride, Hap e Leonard decidono di voler continuare la loro attività di investigatori privati, anche se vorrebbero poterla svolgere nella legalità, una volta tanto. Il primo caso che affrontano, però, è uno dei più incredibili che gli sia mai capitato: c'è di mezzo una specie di setta vampirica, una strampalata organizzazione di killer mercenari e un crollo nervoso di Hap. Ma non c'è tempo per riposare: lui e Leonard sono troppo impegnati nel disperato tentativo di non farsi ammazzare da una serie di persone che ce l'hanno con loro, tra cui il killer Devil Red, la Dixie mafia, e una loro vecchia conoscenza, che potrebbe rivelarsi un prezioso alleato o il peggiore nemico mai aff... morerontato.

review 2: I really love the Hap and Leonard characters and they are great together when they do the simple things of life and celebtate their friendship. Especially like in this episode .BUT, what is really tiring is the fact that most Hap and Leonard books are ruined by bad plots with crappy ridiclous violent episodes. If the violence would be credible and fitting to Hap and Leonard it would be OK, beatings and self-defence (-killing) yes, but all this revenge murdering hitmen s*** and Comic book style assassain stuff is REALLY ruining the books and the whole experience! 3 Stars+3/4 less
