review 1: Yes, this is a thriller. It is absolutely crazy that the meek female foreign exchange student is actually a hit-woman. When she coerces her host family's son, Perry, into being an accomplice, his verbal reactions to her behavior are actually laugh out loud funny at times. Gobi teaches a lot of things to Perry and, although this sounds strange, at the end of the novel the reader is happy that there may be a possibility of them meeting again. I liked this as a fast read and breather from other books.

... morecalates into a scene like a cross between "Ferris Beuller's Day Off" and "Angels and Demons", full of car chases in Perry's dad's prized red Jag, shooting and throat slitting, and a bear fight! Certainly could never say this one is boring... but since it is on the list for my Year 8 student's Lit Circles class I am a bit worried that some of them won't keep up with it!!! less
