review 1: Anyone who enjoys reading books should read this one. Its a short story and I read it in one sitting. Mr Berger loves his books, he leads a somewhat solitary life. His mother dies and he goes to live in her cottage in Glossam. One night he sees a young lady throw herself in front of a train, he informs the police but there is no evidence it actually happened. Mr Berger investigates and it leads him to the Caxton Private Lending Library and Book Depository. From here, for lovers of books, it becomes magical. I cant say much more as it will spoil it and I want the reader to discover the delights of this little book for themselves, as I did. In short, I want to be the next librarian, but will I be chosen, or maybe you will?

... moreld stumble on a mysterious door in an obscure alleyway that said, "Caxton Private Lending Library & Book Depository?" And that the guardian would reluctantly let us in, where we would discover that the great lives of literature were living in a huge warehouse, each with customized rooms?Wouldn't we all like that? Then we'd all like this book. It's a bit predictable, once he keeps Anna Karenina from repeating her destiny and follows her home. You know what will happen, but it's ok. The journey is quite pleasant. less
