review 1: I enjoyed this a lot. It is (currently) the last book in the "Old Man's War" series, but was written as a series of short stories, related, and eposodic in nature. Some were suspenseful, some were funny, and (spoiler alert) not all the loose ends were wrapped up, so I would not be surprised to see Scalzi return to this universe sometime. I prefer some of the earlier entries in this story cycle, but it is none-the-less a very enjoyable, entertaining read.
review 2: A great addition to the Old Man's War series. This thirteen episode short story election adds more depth to the wonderful future world that Scalzi has woven and begins to touch on the political and cultural seismic shocks that affect humanity following the events of The Last Colony. It's a wonderfu... morel read learning more about the Colonial Unions mindset and the Conclave species perspectives. Highly recommended, as this series stands to be my favorite of all time. less
